Nuklear Frost - Subjugation
Black Metal.
Nuklear Frost delivers a fresh take on Melodic Black Metal (sound that emerged from Sweden in the mid-'90s with trailblazers like Dissection, Naglfar, Sacramentum, and Necrophobic) on their new album, Subjugation – balancing dark, blasting melodies with enraged vocals, assisted by an ominous, aggressive production. Even though this record pays respect to the roots of black metal, this is absolutely current and totally vital. Hammering, blasting, raging, and memorable.

Burialkult - A Call From Beyond The Grave
Black|Death Metal.
This, the first full length album by Burialkult, was intended to be recorded with a style and sound firmly rooted in the spirit of the 80’s. A leap forward. Raw, unholy and uncompromising is how the album is described by Phlegathon. Unlike the “Evil Antichrist Hordes” 7"EP (Blood Harvest) that was more black death; “A Call From Beyond The Grave” has a dirtier Rock ‘n’ Roll vibe with grim Black Metal atmosphere and frost bitten tone.
A Call From Beyond The Grave” was recorded at Cenotaph studios in Victoria, BC, by the band themselves through the months of december 2012 and january 2013. For fans of primitive rock and roll influenced black metal; this album is for you!
The cover illustration comes courtesy from the morbid mind of Mark Riddick.

Aleksandr Matochkin - Traditional woeful folksongs of Russian kin
Traditional folk.
Daring fun, kosovorotkas and kokoshniks, clapping and stomping - such associations we have now with the words «Russian song». Maybe it is truth, but not all one. Here is the other face of Russian song heritage, a selection of songs from the collection of Alexander Matochkin, among which are Russian folk songs, some foreign ones and author's songs too.
Alexander Matochkin was born and grew up in an urban environment, where Russian traditional song is a real rarity now. No wonder ? truly folk, not arranged and not accompanied by instrument song it is a real surprise to the modern listener ? such inescapable, ultimate Russian melancholy is in it.
Alexander mastered the traditional Russian songs in the folk ensemble of the St. Petersburg State University. Fifteen years he studied folk songs, toured with expeditions in the Russian North, has collected many ancient tunes and tales, but has not defended his thesis. Perhaps, he gathered too many Russian melancholy on villages, and had to reserve it for himself.
He himself learned to play the harmonica. Russian songs are not often sung under the harmonica, but it seems to us, this is not a deviation from tradition. Terrible are these folk songs, actually, and harmonica is terrible too.
CD limited to 200 copies:
- 6-panel digipack,
- 8-page booklet.
